I booked online 2 open jaw tickets on Conntinental last summer for Dec. 03 from St. Louis to Paris and then Rome to St. Louis. They make it a point of telling you that you don't need to confirm before the flight.

Well, I just happened to be checking on the flights in Nov.(killing a few minutes one day) and the leg of my flight from Rome to Newark had disappeared! I just thought it was a fluke and called the airline and sure enough all flights out of Rome the day of my departure had been cancelled.

When asked why no one had informed me they just said "oops"(more or less). Well, I had to scramble and change my itinerary and lost a day of my apt. rental with no refund.

Moral of the story, I guess, is always confirm the flight, even when they say it's not necessary. . .
