Refund on flight from uk
Hi i got a friend due to fly from uk to usa with us airways but all flights grounded in uk due to volcano will she be able to get full refund - changing dates would be no use to her.

I did not see refunds in the policy statement linked, which seems to apply to passenger-initated changes to itineraries. If the passenger waits until the airline cancels the flight, then she can get a refund. If the airline reschedules her without her asking for it, she just tells them that won't work and asks for the refund instead.

there is no mention of refunds that i can see a transfer would be no good as my friend was going over for a specific event this weekend so going next week/month is no good. Any info on how to try and get a refund would be appreciated

Airlines make refunds only for flights that THEY cancel. Has her flight been cancelled? If so, she will be entitled to a refund.
If her reservation is for a flight later this week, it may or may not go. She will be entitled to a refund if the airline cancels; if it does not cancel the flight, she she will take the trip as originally planned.
