Need help choosing seats on AF380-800

Flying to NY from Paris on AF- 380-800 economy. My husband wants seats over the the wing...I am concerned it will be very noisy. (I am not a great flyer). Also they have an upper deck...is that something we should get.

Any comments on this plane will be helpful ...thank you.

We flew Singapore Airlines 380 economy from London to Singapore and loved it! The upstairs economy was superior to the downstairs economy according to the "downstairs-economy" people who came upstairs to check it out. It's a wonderful plane. I was amazed at how quickly the plane loaded and unloaded with so many passengers.

The fact that upper deck is 2-4-2 vs 3-4-3 seating on the lower deck is enough to choose upper level.

I love seat Guru... At the travel agent I booked the seats we wanted when booking our flight. I assumed they would be ok as they were in the middle of the section, however, on getting home and checking out Seat Guru, I asked to be moved one row down. Perfect!

On our flight the "upper level economy" area seemed spacious with wide, empty exit rows. Food was served hot and often--as were beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Loved those Singapore Slings!

What does the upper-deck configuration on Singapore Airlines have to do with an Air France flight??

2-4-2 with the same two aisles upstairs mean less a cattle-car feel of the 3-4-3 downstairs. And with 2 people traveling together, you can just get your two seats on the side. That's why so many people prefer the standard seatings on widebodied Airbus A300/310/330/340 over widebodies with 3-4-3 or 3-3-3 seating.

And upperdeck should be quieter from engine noise than lower (at least on the 747 that's true).

We can't find the upper section on guru so we don't know if it's a good seat...need advice. The upper section was pretty full. The seats are in the last row near the lavatory...doesn't sound great. We don't know if guru would have a warning as we can't find the guru chart for the upper section.

Or we can change and go to the lower level for seats over the wing. Advice?

Try scrolling down on Seat Guru. I originally couldn't find the "upper deck" either, but when I kept looking down the page I realized that I had moved from "lower" to "Upper"

It's showing on this link

http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Air...irbus_A380.php

The "warning" says the proximity to the bathroom may be an issue, but that the window seat has an "extra" storage compartment. (Whatever that means?)

row 91 A-B and K-L looks great, no row in front but the emergency exit, the best economy seats in the upper deck ! Middle seats row 91 D-E-F-G are the standard economy seats, however I would say better than row 93.
