Lufthansa or Condor Air

My daughter (20yo) and I will travel from Seattle to Frankfurt in July 2017. At the end of our trip she will stay over at a language course in Wurzburg for the month of August and then make her way back to Frankfurt to fly home. I am looking at both Lufthansa and Condor Air. Both leave in the morning so she will need to overnight at the airport. I am thinking at the Hilton as it seems to have good connections to the terminal. Condor is cheaper but I have read some reviews that are not flattering - particularly with terminal access in Frankfurt and delays. This will be her first time to travel home solo. Would Lufthansa be a better choice?

I don't get this. Where would she fly from to go to Frankfurt airport? The nearest to Würzburg would be Nürnberg which is exactly in the opposite direction from Frankfurt.

It would take her as long to get to Nürnberg airport as it would to take her to Frankfurt airport.

The train from Würzburg only takes 1h27m and takes her right to the airport.

Go to www.bahn.de - fares can be as low as 21 Euros.

Sorry if I was not clear. She would take the train to Frankfurt as that airport has the direct flights. My concern is the quality of the lower cost airline as compared to Lufthansa. I read reviews on line detailing long delays, something about double security and very remote gates with little help from staff. I am wondering if this is typical or just a couple times where the airline had some issues with their flight.

I just looked up fares on Lufthansa (they are really flown by United where the fares are the same) for the random date of Aug. 3 and they come up as - one way! - in the threethousands... That's crazy!

Condor comes up as USD739

For that kind of a difference I would not mind having to wait around and being herded a bit like cattle - as long as they get you there and you save a LOT of money...

But already now you can do it cheaper - Iceland Air flies on Aug. 3 for 674 Euros (with a short layover in Reykjiavik). Look up their baggage charges and such - they are add-ons to the rock-bottom basic fare.

If that doesn't appeal, go to www.airfarewatchdog.com and sign up and enter FRA and SEA for city-to-city alerts, you will get emails with fare notifications, and when you see something that really works for you, go to the airline website and book it.

Airfarewatchdog doesn't sell, and you get no spam, just a lot of emails that you can delete if the fares or the time periods for the offer is not what you need. And when that special deal comes along, you pounce...

I'd look at the records of strikes.
