Lounges at Charles de Gualle

I hope you all can help me. We are flying business class and are both Qantas platinum or One World emerald frequent flyers.

We are flying Melbourne - Hong Kong and then into Charles de Gualle airport which arrives at 550am. We are then taking a connecting flight with Air France to Genoa departing at 10.40am. What I would like to know is -

- is there a lounge we can use when we arrive or are we going to be too early?
- if there is a lounge where is it situated?
- if no lounge can anyone suggest the best place to 'park' until our connection?
- will we have to collect our bags on arrival and recheck for the flight to Genoa?

Thanks

You folks are the creme de la creme of OneWorld flyers.

Here's the AA link to the Admirals Club lounge at CDG.

I checked the OneWorld website and it pretty much led you back to the Admirals club.

There might be others, but you can google that one pretty easily.

For more hits on CDG, use www.google.com.fr for locations.

The AA Admirals Club is airside and you won't have access to it on arrival.

Genoa flights depart from 2G and there is currently no lounge in 2G.

Your status would do nothing for lounge access with ANY OW lounges as your connecting flight is with Air France. In order to use a OW partner lounge you need to be connecting with OW partner.

If you're flying in business class with AF then look for AF or a SkyTeam partner lounge, if it's economy, then no lounge access.

Here is the link for Air France lounges at CDG.

I haven't been there in quite a while, so I can't comment on quality. However, it's probably better than an Admiral's Club.

Even if you're flying business on Air France or have Skyteam elite status, the only landside AF lounge is the arrivals lounge in 2C which is for Skyteam long haul arrivals. Since you're not arriving on a Skyteam long haul flight, you won't have access.

There's no departure lounge at 2G where your Genoa flight departs from and you can't access the airside areas of the other halls that do have departure lounges without a boarding pass for a flight that departs from that hall.

yI think You'll need to look for something other than a lounge option. Unfortunately, I have no suggestions there as I always have access to the AF lounges.

Thanks everyone. Not good news from my perspective but at least I now know. Also found a site that voted CDG the worst airport in the world! Not exactly comforting.

baysidegirl,

I believe that this is the intent of the forum; to ask for and provide help.

Whenever possible, I will forward links that may help a person in their decision making.
