Long layover at FRA

Hello all, on May 19 I will be at FRA for 6:45 hours. I'm thinking of going into the city unless anyone can recommend any alternatives, such as something to do at the airport. I look forward to hearing your ideas. Thanks.

Consider going the other direction, to Mainz. It's about a 30min direct ride on the S-bahn from the airport.

I've done a long over at Frankfurt in December timeframe and enjoyed a few hrs at a Christmas market, but aside from the small Altstadt most of the city is post-WW2 era to modern age city buildings without much appeal.

I'd also want to escape the airport, but in your planning keep in mind that FRA is a HUGE place and getting from security to your gate can take some time. If you have lounge access, there are some decent lunges in which to relax.

Thank you all for your ideas. Unfortunately I don't have lounge access but I will do some research on Mainz. If the weather is very bad that day I will enjoy a schnitzel and a quite a few German beers at the airport.
