Life is good...on First Class

I have just been on a short trip to try out First Class on Lufthansa and on Thai Airways. I went from Frankfurt to Hong Kong and after enjoying the First Class Terminal for a few hours (see http://gardkarlsen.com/blog/?p=457) I took the flight to Hong Kong. It was great sitting on First Class on the upper deck of the 747. You can read all about it here: http://gardkarlsen.com/blog/?p=470

After a few days in Hong Kong I went back home via Bangkok and it was very nice getting a massage in the lounge (see http://gardkarlsen.com/blog/?p=485 ) before going back home on Thai Airways first class: http://gardkarlsen.com/blog/?p=497 . I hope that this gives you an impression of First Class

Get in touch if you have any questions.

Regards
Gard

Oh, Gard, but will you ever be able to go back to couch?

Did you pay for it, by the way, or used FF miles, or was this a business trip, or a winning?

Hi

Yeah, I will be able to go back to couch but it will be hard of course ;-) I have done a bit of flying as you can see on http://my.flightmemory.com/gardkarlsen and most of it has been on couch....but flying First was a real treat. This was a trip using FF points and it was worth it ;-)

I have questions... can you get me a free first class ticket? I've had a few first class trips (an upgrade from biz to first) and I love the glares from economy passengers as you line up at the first class check in, and then when you are already seated and they stare up towards the front of the plane wondering "how the heck do you afford that"! I do exactly the same thing when travelling economy!!!

I'm afraid I will never know. I am just happy to be able to get to Europe every year even if it is in cattle class.I'm one of those people wondering how people afford 1st class.

Hi

Well, I don't think that I would ever pay the fortune that it cost to fly first class unless I was stinking rich. This was an award trip where I used my frequent flyer points and it was a great way to try first class
