JFK to LON, $413 in summer (total)

I just booked this on Travelocity, thanks to a kind poster on the Europe board--Virgin Atlantic non-stop. I'm in a state of shock, but it's a happy one.

Hope this helps someone else!

Good for you! I see the base fare is only $98 each way. From LAX the fare is $126.50 each way or $472 all in.

How did you come up with the LAX amounts?

At travelocity.com
- type in From LAX and to LON
- select Flexible Dates
- select Start: May, Thru Aug
- press Search Flights

see Price USD 253+

- press Select under that fare
- see on the calendar that the fare is offered
- select Departure and Return dates (most dates are sold out, but not all)
- after you find available dates, click on until you see the fare summary:
1 adult = $ 248.00
Taxes and Fees = $ 218.70
Service Fee = $ 5.00
Total Price = $ 471.70

Amy:

Thank you. I saw your post a couple hours ago, I did some very quick searching and..........

I now have four seats on Virgin to LHR in late August for $408 each roundtrip. Cheapest otherwise was almost $900 per seat. Seriously, your post is sending us to Europe, where we wanted to go but, with four people the transatlantic fares were prohibitive. Thank you again.
This board is great.

Thanks to RaineyDae on the Europe forum, where I first saw this. Love the Fodors Community!

I had my cheap flights from London to Krakow and from Kaunas, had guesthouses booked...and was in despair about those London prices. I'm betting that there won't be too many cheaper options than this!

I'm glad you were able to jump on to this...Happy travels!
