JFK terminal 3 to terminal 8 in 3hours?
Hi
We are coming from France, flying to Washington, through JFK, in April.
Our flight from France lands at 4.50pm at JFK-Terminal 3 (Delta) and we plan to take off at Terminal 8 at 7.50pm to WAS.
That gives us 3 hours all in all.
- Do we have a reasonable chance to catch our second flight, given that we need to pass through immigration and catch our luggages too ? Reading through lots of other posts, I could see that 1.30h was the average time required to exit the terminal. Is it still accurate ?
- How long will it then take us to travel to terminal 8, check in our luggage and pass security?
Thanks in advance.

Three hours should be fine.
You can take the Airtrain between terminals. The "stations" are located right near the exits for each terminal, the trains run every few minutes and the ride between terminals should take less 10 minutes.
You'll find more info here:

In April, American has a flight to Reagan National (DCA) at 8:40, but I see nothing to either Washington airport at 7:50.
After you collect you luggage, it will take you about 20-30 minutes to get to the T4 Airtrain station, take the train to T8, and reach the T8 terminal. If you have already checked in and have a boarding pass, you can use the luggage drop at T8.
