That says it all. We're planning to go back to France: SMF to NCE and return. The last time I looked we could be routed through Heathrow or Brussels--preferences?

Or Madrid or Barcelona (new AA service JFK-BCN starts in the spring.)

I would avoid Heathrow at all costs.

Is Heathrow even worse than de Gaulle?

Drowning or hanging?

Fortunately, going on AA miles to NCE can't entail connecting through CDG because no AA partner serves CDG-NCE. It's got to be BA (from LHR), Brussels Air (from BRU) or Iberia (from MAD or BCN.)

For what it's worth, there are (reliable source) rumors that AA will start direct JFK-NCE sometime in June 2008. Possibly too late for the OP, but on the horizon.

I think I'll settle for Brussels, thanks--no way JFK!

Thank heaven. Last time we went through JFK on AA it was a dark zoo.

DL = Delta. They use an ugly box called Terminal 2, and the old Pan Am Worldport (Terminal 3) which hasn't been refurbished since it was the Pan Am Worldport.

Oh my...I remember that PanAm terminal. We flew PanAm on the first non-charter flight to Europe that we took.

Just got out flights for early December--no problem with availability. But we'll have to go through Heathrow...oh well, that means I should be able to pick up some Bendicks mints at the gift shop. We'll be spending the night at Heathrow on our way home.
