Wow...didn't realize my post could cause so much aggravation AA.

Alright, let me rephase..you don't HAVE to be at the airport 2 or 3 hours ahead of time...

I took the liberty to check the Vancouver Port Authority website to see what ships are in on Sundays in Vancouver (and therefore, most passengers should/might be departing on the Monday). Monday mornings could be busy for departures..and like I mentioned..I've been to YVR in the early morning when cruise shippers are trying to get out of town - to say the security line up, and the line up to security was choatic is putting it mildly.

Anyhow....so I don't get in trouble again...I'll just suggest you call the airline and ask them when they will have the desks open and show up for that time...

We fly out of YVR to Florida several times a year. We have never found it necessary to be at the airport more than two hours ahead of our flights which are usually the early ones.
If you stay at the Fairmont the night before a flight, this is especially easy. If you are coming from the city you need to factor in that travel time. Let us know how it goes.

According to the YVR website the airport opens at 4:00 am. I think we will plan to be there at 4:30.
We'd love to stay at the Fairmont but since we are getting 1/2 a nights sleep I think we will go cheap and stay at the Accent Inn if we decide to stay close to the airport.
We have booked the Hyatt Regency downtown but it might be more convenient to stay closer to the airport now that NWA has changed our flight time.
Thanks for all the help and advice. I will let you know how it goes.
