Getting to JFK from PHL

We live in Philadelphia but our flight to Italy is out of JFK. Normally we would take public transportation but it seems like PHL-JFK requires a lot of tricky connections. Shuttles seem expensive and a friend had a really bad experience with a shuttle to JFK recently and almost missed her flight. What is the best, most cost-effective way to get to JFK??

The only advise I can offer is how NOT TO GO.We took a shuttle van(15 passenger) that picks up at your home....a big mistake.It picked us up first so that were able to visit the homes of the other 13 passengers scattered all over the greater Philadelphia area.The trip home was in reverse(the last ones dropped off) and we again visited everyones home.Total time for each direction was about 4.5 hours,a nightmare.I believe the cost was $130 round trip for both of us.The price was fair but when I do it again I will take a shuttle that picks everyone up at once from a central location like the train station or Philly International.

I'd fly.<BR><BR>There are no good, direct train connections, the shuttles are a disaster, driving to JFK is nutty and frustrating.<BR><BR>You can probably get a pretty good price right about now, I would think.

We live in Philly area and when we go out of JFK, we drive and park in the long-term lot. Takes 2 1/4 - 1/2 hr. Otherwise, a private driver is best, but most expensive. Shuttles are less expensive, but more of a problem.<BR><BR>You could also consider getting to EWR somehow, &lt;http://www.panynj.gov/aviation/egtsfram.htm&gt;, then taking transportation from there. &lt;http://www.panynj.gov/aviation/connfram.HTM&gt;

I'd go with the shuttle. Dave's Best Limousine (215) 288-1000 is very dependable. They charge $75 roundtrip.

The cheapest way to JFK is to have a friend or someone that owes a favor to drive you there. Delta is the only airline with ns flights phljfk and they run about $300 per person. A limousine service would be the most reliable option but don't let the word limo throw you off, you'll probably get a town car or simiilar.
