Apparently, there are no non-stop flights. And your one-stop options are limited to Chicago, Minneapolis, Seattle and Los Angeles. LA will add a lot of flight time, while Seattle provides the most flights into GEG, though they will be on a turboprop.
BA flies LHR-SEA twice daily.

BA flies twice daily some days, otherwise once.
The early (or only) flight, BA 49, can connect with an Alaska airlines 737 (jet) that departs SEA at 6 PM; otherwise there are pure jets a bit later, turboprops in between. If it's daylight the Seattle-Spokane (GEG) flights are very scenic.
Connecting at Seattle from BA international to Alaska domestic (which may fly under its Horizon Airlines brand on the turboprops) is dead easy.

they were helpful
i am going to look at flying to Seattle then flying on to Spokane ,do you know if i have to change terminals at Seattle
I have flown into Chicago before about 10 years ago and from what i remember it was a huge airport ,so i think as i'm travelling alone i will give that a miss and go to Seattle instead

You will clear customs and immigration, then retrieve your bags at a carousel near the "A" gates. Take a lift or escalator up one floor to the ticketing hall, and walk maybe 50 yards to the Alaska/Horizon ticket counters, where your bags will be checked for the Spokane flight. You'll need to pass through security to go to the departure gate for Spokane. If you're on one of the jets, your gate may be a 3-minute walk from security; if you're on one of the turboprops, it's just about the closet gate to security.

Meant to add, if you're on one of the turboprops the overhead storage bins won't hold most standard roll-aboard suitcases, in which case you can put it on a cart next to the airplane when you board and it will be on a similar cart when you arrive at Spokane.
