Fall Europe specials?
All I've seen is the BA to London - anyone know of other fall specials?? Particularly to Italy/Switzerland (leaving from East coast)
I'm looking to leave October 14th and with oil prices going up, up and away - I'm wondering if I am stuck paying high $700's.

Check www.autoeurope.com. I found flights (including taxes) from DFW-CDG at $500 in September.

Thanks Lutece - best they could do for me is $924 - but I didn't know they had flight deals. I've checked consolidators and aggregators... best I've seen since last Thanksgiving was $685.
I'm holding out as June 30th places me in the 120-90 day window, and I've been told that is when price specials are often offered. I wanted to book already but...

Thanks AAFF, looks like I'm out of luck. I don't have time constraints, but my traveling companions are stuck to those dates
The 'best' flight option is now $830.. it was $685 at its lowest point. I didn't book it then as it has a 4 hr EWR layover... but anything with less of a layover (through BOS, ATL, IAD, JFK) is still over $1000 for one plane change.
I'm holding out a bit longer - so keep the ideas coming! (leaving from ROC)

Is there any chance you could leave on Oct. 15? Do you have any American Airlines FF miles? Here is something I just found out about on American Airlines: I knew that from Oct. 15-May 15 you could use 40,000 FF miles to get a free r/t ticket to Europe. But what I didn't know is that if you have 20,000 you can fly for $295 (plus tax - came to $352) and if you have 30,000 you can fly for $195 (plus tax). The hubby and I are planning to take advantage of this in November on the DFW-CDG route. When I asked the agent if this applied to other European routes, she said yes, except that all the legs of the flights have to be on American (no British Airways, etc.) And you can't do it online apparently -- you have to call AA directly to book.

Thanks for the thought L - unfortunately, I have no AA ff miles - have USAIR, DELTA, United, but no AA... (I've been camping - so not reading the board for a bit as you can see!)
But yes, we could have left on the 15th... trying to swing the extra day if we can though! K
