EWR - Good, Safe Hotel for Park 'n' Fly?
After reviewing Tripadvisor, I am confused. Apparently Newark Airport hotel parking lots are frequent targets of thieves. While many of the crimes appear to take place during check-in/check-out, I wouldn't want to leave my car at risk for 8 nights while vacationing on Kauai in October. I am looking for a quiet, clean, safe, preferably newish or newly remodeled hotel with an airport shuttle where we can get a quick, light, low or no cost breakfast in the morning and parking for our car during our trip. We will not be arriving in time for dinner the previous night so that is not a factor.

Craig, see if parksleepfly.com lists anything for Newark. That's who I use, when I park, sleep, and then fly out of OHare. I found the (old) Hyatt Regency which has just undergone lots of refurbishing to be a great deal at under $100. Plus, the parking is inside a structure, so there are no weather issues when I return from my trip. No winter ice or snow to scrape off!

No clue about safe hotel for parking (we stayed at the Marriott Courtyard some years ago, and that was dodgy at best).
Depending on where you're starting from, Amtrak could be a possibility. Several trains on the Boston-New York route continue to DC and stop at the Newark Airport station, where you hop on the AirTrain to EWR.
