Emirates Air and overnighting in Dubai airport terminal 3
Has anyone done this recently? I'm flying from San Francisco to Dar and trying this route/airline for the first time. I've flown SAA a number of times and it has been brutal, so I decided to try Emirates as they offer a non-stop flight from SF to Dubai, then about a 13 hour layover, then a 6 hour flight to Dar. I like the convenience of the hotel right in the airport.
Would be interested to hear about others experience with this.

phernska -- we decided to take the plunge & do this too, going to Johannesburg. Read a glowing review about Emirates a few days ago from a SF woman en route to Dubai -- said it was the cleanest plane she had been on! The seats have a 34" pitch in economy -- said to be as good as it gets. Booked a room with a bathtub both going and coming. Like the idea of no luggage, customs or immigrations to deal with in Dubai. Fingers crossed!

shouldbewriting--when are you going? My trip's not until Sept., but I'm going to NY next week and plan to book while I'm there because there's an Emirates office in midtown. Did you book online?

Did this a year ago on the way to and from India. Very nice flights, planes, service, etc. Highly recommend. On the return my layover was daytime so I picked up a driver just outside the exit from Immigration/Customs for a four-hour tour of Dubai plus lunch at the Atlantis, which was interesting.
