EasyJet charges

Last night I booked a ticket from Berlin to Olbia, Sardinia, Italy, one way for only 26.99 Euros on EasyJet. Great price, right?

Plus taxes of 11.00 and a credit card usage fee of 7.50 euros--never heard of that one--the price came to 45.49 euros.

I plan to spend a few days in Sardinia and work my way up to Corsica, France, and eventually take the ferry to Marseille and the train to Barcelona.

I love thinking about my summer vacations!

I hope you never travel Ryanair or BA otherwise you'll die of apoplexy

Easyjet, unlike most of the other airlines - Low Cost & Full Service - do put most of their charges (airport, fuel surcharge, wheelchair levy) into the basic cost of a ticket.

About the only thing they don't include are Government taxes.

As for paying to use a Credit Card, where have you been this century. It's pretty standard in the UK, even the likes of Ikea do it.

I've heard of a 2% charge but 7.50 Euros seemed a bit much.

BTW, I've never used Berlin's Schoenefeld airport before. I have used Tegel. Do you think I can use public transportation in Berlin on a Sunday morning for an 8:00 a.m. flight? or should I call a taxi. Any comments?

And if you have a bag that goes over their (limited) checked bag weight limit, prepare for even more shock when you get to the airport.

that's just not easyjet these days. go over weight limits on most airlines these days, and be prepared to pay...

ryanair now charges everyone to check luggage in...

credit-card fees have been standard in the UK for many many years....debit cards attract a very low charge in comparison

"And if you have a bag that goes over their (limited) checked bag weight limit"

20kg - just like grown up airlines - and their cabin luggae has no weight limit, just one on size

Less than 46 Euros to go from Berlin to Sardinia seems like a great price to me.
I've gone to and from Berlin Schoenefeld by public transport, but never early in the morning. There has to be a site that lists the earliest trains. I took the train to/from Friedrichstrasse.
