Ok, I reread, and only your DS needs the miles. Then it would be a matter of whether United honors the old earning rate and I'd be stunned to find out if they didn't.

I hope you are right, mrwunrfl. If he gets the Swiss miles, he's got 1K made for 2011.

DH is 2P and too far from 1P to try to make it. I'm 1K, but the Swiss miles would put me over 125,000, which would mean a couple more Regional upgrades.

I'm 95% confident that DH and I will get our miles. It's DS that I'm most concerned about. But hopefully you are right that UA honors the old rate.

Thanks for that vote of confidence!

Well, maybe I don't know what I am talking about. I just read a couple of posts on ft that are saying that Swiss tells MP how many miles to credit. It is not like they say ABC-XYZ is K class and MP figures out the mileage credit.

But then, FWIW, there is this: http://boardingarea.com/blogs/unroad...-on-lh-and-lx/

The tickets were purchased in August, so well before the change in rules.

Sounds like 75% certainty that miles will be earned, at this point.

I'll keep everyone posted.
