Denver to Reykjavik on Iceland Air

We're flying from Denver to Reykjavik on Saturday from DIA.

When we last took this flight in May of 2017, check-in was very chaotic. We used a self-check in kiosk, which printed a faux boarding pass, but we still had to stand in line to check-in our bags and once there, the agent asked for our passports and went through the whole check-in process again, so the kiosks were basically useless. I suspect they just weren't up and running yet.

Wondering if anyone here has taken this flight from DIA lately and how the check-in process went.

Just checked in online, seems things have improved. We'll see how it goes at the airport this time.

We've arrived in Switzerland. All went well. Check-in at DIA was a breeze, we had plenty of time for a leisurely glass of wine after security and before boarding. Flight on time, relatively comfortable, but unable to sleep thanks to some talkative adults and active kids. Layover in KEF was pain free, although the airport there is still pretty chaotic at 6 am - enough time for a tub of SKYR and a beer. Flight from KEF to Zurich left a little late, but no drama, we're here!

Good to know check in was better. Our son and his wife live in Denver now, and Denver Airport seems pretty chaotic pre-security most of our trips.

Ann - the only pre-security issues we've had at DIA in recent memory were specifically with Iceland Air. We fly through there a couple of times of year. It was busier than we expected on the Saturday after Thanksgiving though. We knew Sunday would be a zoo, but were still surprised at how busy it was on Saturday. We zipped thorugh security with our TSA PRE, gotta love that.

KEF on the other hand is seriously chaotic - even in the dead of winter!
