Delta changing its route, what are the odds?

Okay, I've read way too much information about airlines changing schedules and am left to wonder what the odds are of Delta cancelling or re-routing a December ATL to FCO flight? They are the only carrier out of San Antonio with one connection to Rome. Ignorance was bliss.

The flight time may change, but DL definitely will be operating an ATL-FCO flight this December.

HIGHLY unlikely that DL would cancel ATL-FCO route. Schedule changes (but only minor ones I think) are possible and if a schedule change creates a problem with your connection, ask them to put you on different SAT-ATL flight.

Thank you! Prices are slowly coming down on Delta and, obviously, we would rather take advantage of a one stop flight.

CO has SAT-EWR-FCO itinerary, but they may be more expensive than DL right now.

Alitalia (AZ) flies from various cities in the US, some of which may also have non-stop from SAT. But that'd be on two different airlines.

Having trouble posting...this post may be duplicated!

To FCO, the Delta flights out of ATL connect to Alitalia but the fine print on the reservation page reads, "operated by Delta" --I'm a little confused as to what this means--is this an Alitalia route that Delta operates or vice versa?

DL70 = AZ7601. It's a Delta operated flight.
