Courier Airline Questions
I have searching the web for cheap airfare a stumbled across a few courier websites such as www.aircourier.org It claims to save 85% on international flights, and give two free tickets when you sign up. Is this too good to be true. Has anyone had any experinence with this company? Is it a good deal? Any information would be a great help.

Most courier sites require you to travel only with carry on luggage and to be available at thier request. Somehow I think it would be difficult for a family, there probabaly is no gurantee yow would all wind up on the same plane.

I'll go back to aircourier.org later, but first the 2 "free" ticket offer.
This is an advertisnment, nothing to do with aircourier.org. What you are signing up for is cheaptrips.com, It's an internet travel agency much like Expedia, Travelocity, Orbitz, etc. except they want you to pay for "membership". They claim to have great success in finding lowest rates for flights, hotels, vacations. They DO NOT have any "special" pricing available that you or I can't find ourselves with little work. If you don't have few minutes to look around then maybe the $99.95 membership fee is worth it. IMHO, it's a rip-off and the 2 "free" tickets is a first sign. If you took time and went down to the bottom of the offer page and read the small print you would have found this:
2 free ticket offer requirements:
1) Minimum stay at participating hotel
2) Two tickets must be used on the same trip.
3) Please see #4 in the terms and conditions for more detail about this program.
I won't even go to #3 directions to see #4 for more T&C because #1 tells me everything. What they will do is give you 2 "free" tickets if you reserve the hotel with them. So for example if the hotels regular rates are $100 per night and you have to stay minimum 7 nights, they will charge you $200 per night, to cover their cost of the 2 "free" tickets.
So there are your 2 "free" tickets. Again this has NOTHING to do with aircourier.org, it's only a clever ad on their website. It does make it look like they are part of the "whole" deal.
About aircourier.org. It is a very reputable company. What you agree to do is carry "whatever" for them. No it's not shady, it is always cleared with customs. In most cases it's some very important documents that need to be hand delivered. You are only allowed to have 1 carry on for yourself, because they don't know how much of "your space" they will require. In return you usually get a very good airfare to some nice places. I would guess that 90% of the time it's between the following cities: London, Hong Kong, Tokyo, but it doesn't mean that you can't get a ticket to Moscow, Rio, Paris, or many, many other places. It just means that the opportunity for the 3 world business centers comes up daily, where the others may not. You have to be flexible for the outbound. Basically you register with them that let's say during the week of Apr15-22 you would like to go to Hong Kong. They may have something right then and offer it to you or if not put you on a possible list. Once you get the outbound the inbound is set as well usually a week or 2 later. You show up at the airport few hours before to meet with their rep, s/he goes to check-in with you and they check-you in along with the "package". They hand you the BP and the return ticket and all the necessary documentation required for the "package". That's it, in most cases you don't have to even touch the "package". On the other side, you proceed through immigration, claim the "package" go through customs with all the documentation in hand, and once out you hand the package to their waiting rep, and you are free to do what you want. You will be required to "possibly" do the same on return, but in most cases it doesn't happen.
There is always the possibility that the client did not have a package ready, so few times you don't even have to "carry" it on the outbound. Or it may be just a small legal size envelope, in which case you will have it with you.
Seems simple enough. It is, but you have to realize these courier fares are usually just from the major cities, New York, Chicago, LA or Miami. If you don't live there, you will need to get there somehow on your own. And with aircourier.org requiring few days flexibility on your outbound it may be difficult unless you could stay with some friends there. Otherwise it defeats the purpose if you have to purchase a very expensive open dated domestic ticket, in order to get there on a short notice.
Hope this helps.
