Connecting time in JFK

Im arriving internationally to JFK terminal 4 in October using Kuwait Airways, and Im connecting using Delta Air to Florida Terminal 3.
Im arriving terminal 4 @ 1600 and departing Delta AIr terminal 3 @ 2000
Since I'm not a US citizen do you think 4 hours are enough for connecting time? taking into consideration passport control luggage and customs in both terminals.i will be on first class
thank you

4 hours is extremely generous, for pretty much any airport transfer. 3 hours is typically recommended.

The variable is not the US passport control/customs procedure. Even though you are not a US permanent resident and will be fingerprinted and have your mug shot taken as if you were a criminal, it's not all that bad. They usually have enough agents to move the queues pretty quickly. The variable is simply ATC controls in the NYC area, If the plane is relatively on time, it's a short walk from terminal 4 to terminal 3 (no great need for the air train for that transfer, the walk to and from the air train is porbably just as "long" as the walk from terminal 4 to terminal 3 so you should be fine.

ATC = Air traffic Control

xyz123 is implying the big variable is the amount of air traffic going into/out of JFK at the time OP's inbound is due to arrive. That could have a bearing on whether or not the inbound flight arrives on-time. Regardless, 4 hours is plenty of time to make the connection.

Aha, thank you. I will be arriving around 1600 terminal 4 and departing from terminal 3 at 2000 .I guess it's high air traffic at that time and hopefully 4 hours would be efficient.
