I am pretty sure that the flight attendants would be deploying the rafts along with instructing people sitting at the window exits to open them for evacuation.

I flew on a Continental 737-900 this morning, and I looked at the safety card, which is printed for CO's 738 and 739.

The plane has 4 inflatable rafts, but they are NOT the emergency chute like those on the USAirways A320 (or the jetBlue A320 I was on).

Instead, they are stowed elsewhere on the aircraft, and are to be launched from the front doors and the front overwing exits. There's a big cross on the graphics at the rear doors.

So, seem like someone at Boeing realize that when the plane is in the water, the rafts can't be launched from the rear doors.

How visable are geese from the aircraft, distance wise? I know private planes are always on the look out for birds, when they are taking off or landing.
