candles

My read of the TSA list suggests that wax candles are OK in carry on bags. Anyone recently travel with them without issues?

I wouldn't light them during the flight. It really pisses off the flight attendants. Almost as much as pushing the flight attendant call button during flight.

Wally-stop it. You know that all flight attendants can't wait for you to push the button to order another "adult beverage"?

Dutyfree, you would have been so proud of me in Auckland. I had purchased a plastic bottle of blackberry juice which I had used for a water bottle in New Zealand. I went through security with an empty bottle and then purchased a bottle of wine at the duty free stores (are you related) I then went to the bathroom, thank God for screw tops, and filled the juice bottle with wine and threw out the wine bottle. I then went to Burger King and purchased a chicken sandwich and had a drink. Yum!

So I took them this past weekend. The screener at the x-ray set my bag aside to have someone open the bag and look at the candles.

But the young man just ahead of me had the SSS on his boarding pass and had all his bags inspected. They had many pockets and were really jammed with items. I waited about 5 minutes and he was still being inspected, before the man at the X-ray took pity on me, ran my bag through X-ray again and than passed it along with no explanation.

They didn't raise any response on my return.
