British Airways World Traveller Plus
I am going on BA from Denver to London and was offered World Traveller Plus instead of just regular World Traveller (economy) and wasn't sure if it was worth the extra money $830 R/T vice $1,350 R/T. The website couldn't convince me to pay the extra and since flight is 9 or 10 hours non-stop can't make up my mind. I understand seats are 1" bigger and more leg room but can't decide. I was hoping someone could tell me if it is worth it.
I'll be traveling by myself and have always been able to jockey a good seat for myself on other airlines using the seat maps to see what was open, but doesn't look like a traveler is able to pick their own seat on BA.

You can probably do a search on BA's site on FT(FlyerTalk) - I am sure you'll find your answer there.
You definitely cannot get a seat assignment until 24 hours before the flight - that is one of the disadvantages of flying on BA (unless you have "super" elite status or fly first class, full fare business class, etc).

I have flown both coach and world traveler plus on BA. The extra legroom is nice, but I don't think it is worth $830. I did just fine in coach. Just check in 24 hours in advance and you should be able to change to the type of seat you want with no problem.

We've flown both classes from BDA to Gatwick - when he can, my BF books WTP, but one thing I don't like is that the arm rests in between seats are fixed - I like to fold mine up and curl up a little and that's next to impossible. I've told him next time, I'll be back in coach and I'll see him when we land. I'd rather spend the extra money on something else.

You wine will be in a glass--not plastic. You will be served dinner first, so they shouldn't run out of choices, however, that is a lot of money. If I were you, and assuming your not over 6 feet tall, I'd fly economy.

Can you upgrade just on the way back?
When we flew back to Denver it was during the day instead of night and I would like to have had a better seat because I was tired and wanted more room on the plane. The return trip is always hard on me.

I think I'll take Sue878's suggestion and upgrade on the way back for only $253 more. Going I'll be leaving in the evening and will work that day so will probably be able to sleep with no problems. Also find it easier to sleep that direction.
Glad to know that the arms rests don't raise. I like to curl up too and that may be the reason just to forget it.

Funny, I feel the exact opposite. I have always tried to upgrade on the way over (if i could afford it) because I find it impossible to sleep on the plane. And of course flying the overnight flight to Europe means arriving there in the morning and I always feel horrible and in a daze the entire first day.
OTOH, on the way back, since it's pretty much daylight, I don't mind sitting in the cramped seat and just watch movies and read my book in the economy section. I always wait until I get home before sleeping so I adjust back to the US time zone quickly.

We have flown World Traveller Plus, and think it is worth paying some extra for. The additional cost seems to vary quite a lot, according to how full the flight is at the time of booking. It may be worth checking the fares on different days and times to see when you can get the best deal.

I've flown BA four times Seattle/London. Though the seats are small and the lack of seat assignment unnerving, everything else was great imo.
Decent food, free drinks, seatback entertainment screens with a full lineup.
I can't imagine 1" extra would be worth hundreds of dollars to me...
Not IF I could get one of those laydown beds in 1st class, then we'd be talkin'

I would always choose to upgrade for the night flight over the daytime flight as I find it gives me a good sleep and I'm ready to get going on my trip. Coming home during the daytime, I'm prepared to spend the time in the cheaper seat, enjoying the videos and reading.

A few years ago DH and I got a free upgrade to WT+. I didn't think it would have been worth paying for, at least not more than $100 extra or so. But DH loved it. The difference is that I am only 5'3 and DH is 6'2. So if you are tall it might be more valuable than if you are a shrimp like me.

Please note that the on BA from DEN to LHR, which I've flown several times recently, the flight back is longer than the flight over by at least an hour. IMO, the flight over is pretty straight forward...board plane, drinks served, dinner served, lights out for sleeping, then breakfast and you land. The flight back during daylight hours the entire trip can seem to take forever.
