Banking Delta miles
Anyone know how a person goes about banking miles after you already have an award confirmation. What the issue is that I am flying back on a day that requires 25k miles and I noticed today that there are now awards available for the next day that are at 12500 miles. Is it possible to rebank the return and what is the cost, and rebook the return on the following day?

Yes, you can redeposit and reissue an award provided you haven't flown the outbound. The current fee effective August 1 is $75 per ticket. Was your original ticket issued before August 1? If so, the previous fee of $50 per ticket might apply in your case.

Only problem you may have is if you do not have enough miles leftover to get the award ticket prior to redepositing miles. It takes a while for miles to show up on balance as redeposited. You could always call DL and see if they can expedite it, but we had this problem some years ago.

Now Delta's change rate has gone up to $75.00? I can maybe see it when it's the last minute, but how dang hard is it to move a ticket - especially when it may be months in advance? It's ok for them to overbook and maybe have to adjust somebody's plans, but by Gawd it better not be your idea to change....
