We are flying from Budapest to Amsterdam on Malev Hungarian Airlines and I have no experience with this airline. Has anyone flown on them? How were they? Thanks.

Flew Budapest to Prague on a small prop job. No problems whatsoever. Normal check in, flight on time. Just like dozens of your average airlines.

There seemed to us nothing remarkable, either positive or negative, flying with Malev. Announcements at the gate are made in Hungarian and English.

We find the security staff in Budapest to be a little more rigid than in other European airports. E.g., non-metallic belts must be taken off and women wearing jacket-like tops must demonstrate that they have no under blouse on before being allowed to wear them through the metal detectors.
