Ankle Brace
I will be traveling tomorrow, however, today I twisted my ankle. I’m thinking about getting a cheap drug store ankle brace to wear, considering I have layovers and a lot of walking. Would I be able to wear my ankle brace through security or would I need to remove it if it’s not medical?

If you have an ankle sprain/brace -- I would definitely request wheel chairs when you check in. They will call one to pick you up and then have one waiting for you as you exit each plane. It will speed things up immeasurably.

It is medical. Either an ankle brace or just an ace bandage would work. You will not need to remove the brace/bandage but they will screen you separately.

Second the suggestion of wheelchairs. I used them the last time I flew and otherwise I doubt I could have made the trip. Plus, it gets you to the front of the lines.
I notified the airline ahead of time, and then made the request again at check in.

the cheap ankle braces that you get from the drug stores are exactly that - essentially a compression sleeve. They will do nothing to help. Go to an 'real' drug store (you know, the ones that sell equipment and canes and things like that) and look for McDavid or Vive.
I also second the idea of a wheel chair.
but I may be late - hoping you travelled ok ?
