And experience w/US Airways Clubs at DCA and LGA?

I am going to NYC in a few wks w/my daughter on the US Air shuttle from D.C. I do not have enough status with any airline or any air club memberships to allow for visiting any air lounges. But when I got a US AIR Mastercard I recd. a day pass for use at any domestic US Air Club lounge (and I can take a guest). I am wondering which club to visit, the club at DCA or LGA. Has anyone been to these clubs? Is one any nicer than the other?

Thanks in advance.

Hi e, I haven't used those clubs, at least not in the last 15 years. FWIW, I will suggest using it at the first opportunity. If you save the pass for LGA but get there late then you might not be able to use it. The club at DCA is probably pretty good since it would be in the "new" terminal building. The flyertalkers would be able to help. Also, the one-time use fee for the USAir clubs is $25 thru August 31st (reduced from $40).

Thanks for the input. What do you mean about one time use fee? I ran and looked at my certificate and it says "complimentary" and there is no fee mentioned. Do you have experience w/using one of these comp passes and is there a fee involved that they are not disclosing on the cert.?

I am meeting up w/a couple of fodorites on this trip, one from the asia board. Should be fun.

No fee with the pass. What I meant was that the club sells day passes. They are normally $40 but are discounted thru August 31. So if you use your comp pass at DCA, and like it lots, then you could pay the $25 for a day at LGA. Or vice versa. I like my RCC membership (and will be using it at USAir/AW clubs soon) and think the $25 is a good deal, so I mentioned it.

I had no idea you could buy a day pass! That is great- I wish I had known before. Thanks for turning me onto that.

One more thought: The day passes are good for a day, so maybe your comp pass is too. If that is the case then you could use the club at DCA and then stop at the one at LGA, if it is convenient, to freshen up and have a snack. And see if it is worth the $$ for the return.

The comp pass says it is a "day pass" but also says it is to be surrendered at "a" location, "present this cert. for comp. access to a US AIRWAYS Club facility". But I will see if they allow me to use it at both DCA and LGA in one day, and check out both of them if possible. Good idea, thank you for raising it, and thanks for the links too.
