I've used both the United and SAS lounges at Heathrow. I think the UA lounge is more relaxing. It is furnished like a living room with carpeting, armchairs and sofas. The SAS lounge is almost spartan with wood floors, stools at countertops, etc. Both have good refreshments, SAS maybe a little better selection.

I agree with the comments about the SAS lounge in LHR. It is spartan and very business like. I do not think that it is designed for longer layovers. The email access is great but that is all I can say. I would definately go with the UA lounge.
