Air India vs Cathay

Hi

I am traveling to Hongkong / Shanghai from New Delhi. Have an option between Air India and Cathay.

Air India is much cheaper for my iterniary. However I am worried about its on time performance to Hongkong / Shanghai.

Any advice?

You should be. AI has generally mediocre reviews. The level of sx. will be way better on Cathay by a wide margin too. BTW we recently flew from DEL to HKG. At the time we were waiting to depart DEL there were 5 flights on the board that were late and all of them were AI. In two cases the delay was 4-6 hrs!

May we ask how much cheaper? I've flown both and it would have to be a heck of a savings for me to choose AI over Cathay.

Cathay Pacific for sure.I would not trust my life to Air India and for those old enough to remember a LONG TIME ago they used to have families bring their own curry on board

There is no choice here-Cathay in a nanosecond.Air India-not enough space here to write why you shouldn't chose them!

If I were flying Business Class and Air India was a significantly better deal, I'd consider it. But if you're flying in Economy, I'd recommend Cathay.
