Air France: Online check-in Restriction ?
I just tried to do our online check-in and a message {in red} came up stating,
You or one of the members of your group can not use Internet check-in, due to a check-in restriction. Please check in at the airport
What do you suppose THAT means?

I get it once and awhile with another airline, probably because someone with a name like mine apparently has status on the TSA list. I went through the process of getting the all-clear letter from Homeland Security, but it took a while for the airline to adjust their IT system, and while usually I don't get it now, once and awhile it crops up. The specific problem for me is that this airline grants upgrades based, in part, on when you check in, so I don't get the upgrade.

it also could be one of oyu have been selected for SSSS - extra TSA screening. May have nothing to do with a name or whatever, just luck of the draw...has happened to me but not in a long time
Did you both have seat assignments? The other reason is sometimes if you don't have seat assignments already you have to check in at the airport.

Is this domestic or international? It could be a number of things. Besides the name issue, or random targeting for extra screening, it could be if one of your parties is a minor, expiration issue on a passport, the good ol' computer glitch, other documentation requirements for international travel/destination, etc. Have you tried more than once?

dfr4848,
We do have seat assignments. I also tried more than once and it was a no go.
Of course I told my husband last night and he mentioned that it happened to him once on a domestic flight. We are guessing that he has been targeted for additional screening.
I'll let you know if that was the case.

Please do get back to us. I'm curious as well. The only time we've run into this was when we were traveling with a small group and the airline didn't have visa info that one of the parties was required to have. Worked out fine at the airport.
