Yellow Fever Vaccination Proof

Hello Everyone,

Quick question. The certificate for yellow fever vaccination is a different from the cute little booklet I received last time. It also has to strips of self adhesive on the back (top and bottom) and is scored in the middle for folding. Am I supposed to adhere the certificate to two pages in my passport? Or do I just carry it around with me?

Thanks all,
Juliet

Carry it around. I always bring mine with me, and I have never been asked to produce it (and I have visited approx 20 African countries, many of which claim to require proof of a yellow fever vaccination).

Guess many people loose the YF certificate, why they put adhesive strips - to keep with the passport. Makes sense.

Unless you're the type of person who is likely to misplace this, you don't have to adhere it to the passport, though it's a good idea!

We were asked for it entering Burundi but not Rwanda!
We kept it with our passports.

OnlyMeOirish, when were you in Burundi? I will be in that neck of the woods but I had heard it isn't safe to cross into Burundi.

Hi mp413, Sorry .. a lot of the regulars would have 'gotten' my comment. We actually ended up in Burundi by mistake . Long story short, we were on a plane to Rwanda and it mad an unscheduled stop (at least we weren't tole it was going to stop) in Burundi where we mistakenly thought it was Rwanda and got off . After much panic all was well that ended well and we made it to Rwanda! If you would like to read the long version you can just do a search of my username and it is the one in purple.

Here is the report with the Burundi reference. Imelda, if only you could have known while panicking in Burundi that the whole thing would work out and become a huge joke on the forum.
