Who runs Olosokwan and Mbalageti?

Hello,

I've tried to Google these two camps, but haven't been able to find out more about them I know that they're semi-permanent tented camps in the Serengeti, but I can't seem to find out who the operator is (they are two of four camps run by the same operator). Are they run by Sokwe?

Cheers,
Julian

Hi Julian,

You should have tried Bwana Mitch,
http://www.safari-portal.de/Lodging.TZ.North.d.html

These are Nomad camps:

Hi Mitch,

Thanks for the links (though not reading German makes things a bit challenging...)

The link you have for Mbalageti goes to what looks like a regular lodge, not a semi-permanent camp. I found this link through Google, but I didn't think it was the right one. Are there two camps with this name?

Cheers,
Julian

Julian,

Nomad call their camps Serengeti Safari Camp and Loliondo Safari Camp. As far as I know ATR is the only operator that calls them Masek, Mbalageti, Olosokwan and Piaya Camps. I've listed these names in brackets below the original names.

If you search for 'Mbalageti' on my page (use your browser's Find function), you will have to hits: 'Serengeti Safari Camp (... Mbalageti Camp)' which is the Nomad camp, and 'Mbalageti Serengeti'.

Mitch

Mbalageti was previously a semi-permanent camp. No longer. It's a permanent camp w/ 24 chalets and swimming pool. Very nice. and another option in the Western Serengeti.

Thanks for clearing this up, Mitch - it looks like the Nomad camps are the ones I was looking at.

Cheers,
Julian
