From the website, Christina House is 7km (almost 5/miles) outside of town center. Otherwise, I can't comment, though the price can be a benefit. The African Tulip is right in town and lovely. And, as above... maybe return to Arusha Hotel at the clocktower.

As tom - nothing much to see on the road from Arusha to JRO airport.

Bill likes to use the Arusha Hotel, so have Shannon get you a quote. The guys would be in town if they wanted to explore Arusha a bit. I've also stayed at Moivaro Lodge, which has nice grounds and more "African" style bungalows. It's just outside of town off the road to the airport. What do the guys want to do the next day and what will that cost? Have Shannon price that out, as well.

This forum (and all of you) are terrific---thanks a bunch!

The African Tulip does look lovely---I'll check into pricing and availability.

The guys say they are fine not staying in town, but they'll need to research that option a bit more before the final decision.

I've sent and email to Bill and Shannon so will wait to see what they have to say about the different options.

Thanks again for all of your help!!!

I'd like to pose a follow up question. I arrive on Turkish Air into JRO at 115am and I'm thinking of staying near JRO before heading to the Arusha Coffee Lodge the next day. Any suggestions for a hotel that wouldn't be too far from the airport? The Coffee Lodge is too expensive for the couple hours sleep and tto far to travel that late.
