My family (2 adults, 3 kids - 9,12, 14 yrs) are planning a Spring Break Trip trip through Morocco. Our current plans are as follows:

Current Itinerary
Day 1 - 9:05p Arrive in Tangier (Overnight Tangier)
Day 2 - Tangier along the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen (Overnight Chefchaouen)
Day 3 - Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes (Overnight Fes)
Day 4 - Fes cultural guided tour with an English speaking guide (Overnight Fes)
Day 5 - Fes - Cider Forest - Atlas Mountains - Merzouga (Overnight Desert Camp)
Day 6 - 4WD Sahara sightseeing (Nomads, Fossil mines, Oasis) - Camel ride (Overnight Desert Camp)
Day 7- Merzouga - Todraa Gorges - Dades Gorges (Overnight in Dades Gorges)
Day 8 - Dades Gorges - Rose Valley - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Ounila Valley - High Atlas Mountains - Marrakech (Overnight Marrakesh)
Day 9 - Marrakech Guided cultural tour (Overnight Marrakesh)
Day 10 - 6:30a Depart Marrakesh - 11:00a Arrive Paris (Overnight Paris)
Day 11 - 2:50p Depart Paris- 5:30p Arrive Los Angeles

We may have the option of adding 1 more night to this trip. My question is, where should we add it?

• Option 1: Add one more day/stop to our Fes-Marrakesh desert transit, perhaps in Ouarzazate or Ait Ben Haddou to break up the drive
• Option 2: Add one day to either Fes or Marrakesh
• Option 3: Do an excursion or stay overnight in Essaouria from Marrakesh
• Option 4: Stay one more night in Paris on the way back home

Not sure what makes sense with the family - what would you do? My husband says he does want the chance to take it easier towards the end of the trip since I am known to travel at a fast pace due to limited time and resources. Thanks for your advice!

You cannot go wrong adding a day to either Fez or Marrakesh, as there's plenty to see and do. If I were you, given your limited time, I would eliminate either Fez or Marrakesh so that you could have more time in one or the other. I'm using a fast traveler and with four nights in each city, kept very busy.
