Vumbura news letter

Anyone visit Vumbura or LV lately? Would love to know if the cheetah family came from Kwara and is the same one.

However, I do know that as of early August they were seen at Kwara. So, who knows.......

Hari, how you been ? Still fascinated by cheetahs ? Well it's the same for me, just adore lions.

Am in the mara and will be staying at serian for 3 nights, 3 nights at serena, 3 at entim and 3 at lion porini.

As you have been to serian, do you feel 3 nights are enough ?can add a 4th night.Let me know. How were the lion prides in the area, and as the mara predator project is based from serian, who should i request to be my driver guide and spotter.

Secondly, did you do night game drives at Serian, they told me they have stopped night game drives and I need to be in the camp, by latest 8:30, and no drives after that, also what time did you usually leave for a game drive in the morning at serian

Also which tent has the best view and also close to the main area, as I believe the bathrooms are not en-suite at serian. How far are the bathrooms from the tent and is it safe venturing out at night ?

Hope all is well with you

Sonali

Sonali,

Doing well, Thanks.

I do remember Lions in that area ........ as is anywhere in the Mara for that matter.... the additional night - won't it just be more convenient to add the extra night at the end of the trip, at which ever camp your final stop is? All these places are easily accessible from each other, anyways.

I have no recollection of the name of guide/spotter from my trip - the spotter was very good and enthusiastic from memory.

Rooms - yes, not en suite and it's a short walk from bedroom area to bathroom - but, very safe and certainly a camp I rate very highly. You can always go to Ngare Serian across the bridge where the rooms are more ensuite.

Night Drives - I seldom do any night drives in Botswana or in locations that advertise them as I don't really have any interest in them.

Most of my day trips from Serian were inside the reserve, so I do believe we left early in the morning ASAP .......

Hari

Thanks Hari,

Did you find better viewing in the reserve compared to the area near serian ? How many nights did you spend and in which month did you go to serian.

Thanks, Sonali
