Visa Paperwork in Kenya and Tanzania

Hi All,
OK, I searched and couldn't find an answer. We have decided to wait until we get to Kenya and Tanzania to get our Visas. Shouldn't be a problem from what I've read.

My question is, what paperwork do we need to have with us? Our passport of course, but do we need to fill out any forms ahead of time to make it go faster? I know if we send in to get our visas we need to fill out an application. But what abut at the airport?

We will be flying into Nairobi and then to Tanzania the next day.

Only 31 days to go! Getting real excited. Today was good day, we signed up for flying Doctors and got our prescription from our Dr for Malarone and Cipro. YEEEHAAA!

thanks,
Duane

You need the application form for Kenya which you can get from www.kenyaembassy.com

On the flight, they'll pass out landing cards which you also need to fill out. Other than that, just your passport and money.

When we arrived at JRO, they didn't want our application forms, just the landing cards, but at DAR, they wanted both application forms and landing cards. Again, the only additional items you need are passports and money. If you're arriving JRO and want to print out the application form anyway just in case, it can be found at www.tanzaniaembassy-us.org

BTW, Precision Air didn't have the landing cards to pass out onboard, but you can get them on arrival in the immigration area of JRO.

You can actually get all of the forms you need on arrival at each airport, but it's just easier to have them prefilled.

Thanks Patty. This is just what I was looking for. We'll fill out the paperwork ahead of time. Anything to save few minutes standing in line

We've gotten our Kenya and Tanzania visas ahead of time and had to send photos, which are shown on the visa in the passport. No photos needed to get visas at the airport? Just wondering.

You don't need to bring photos, but they might take one at the airport. Some of the people got their pictures taken--I didn't. TIA!
