Victoria Falls in Feb?

We are planning to go to Africa in Feb 2007 and want to include Victoria Falls. It is a costly extention however and I'm wondering if there is usually a lot of water in Feb?

snorklesue,

I was there in early March 2002, and the Falls truly lived up to its African translation, Mosi-O-Tunya...The Smoke That Thunders. I suspect that February would be the same, especially mid to late February.

As far as being a costly extension, Victoria Falls should be a very inexpensive part of any safari, as this means that you will be hitting the best areas of Southern Africa, either Botswana or Zambia, both very convenient to Victoria Falls.

However, looking at your time of year, February honestly is not the best time for a safari in Botswana or Zambia...hot and wet, although most parts of Southern Africa will be similarly hot.

What does the rest of your itinerary look like and where are you considering staying in Victoria Falls? Sometimes you are better off booking one of the more exclusive and all-inclusive high end properties rather than a less expensive property where you then pay for everything separately.

I agree with Rocco, Feb in Botswana is not the best........Vic Falls will probably be very good after consistent rains from Nov to Feb.

Thanks for your input. We are looking at an OAT trip to Kenya and Tanzania with an extension to Victoria Falls. The safari part will be in Kenya and Tanzania.
