travel company advice

Planning on going to east africa - any advice as to travel companies? Wanting good game drives, food and lodgings. Any direction you can give us is very appreciated as this will be our first time.

We used Gamewatchers in Nairobi. They have their own camps, or can offer you any others. Their service was great, and they delivered on everything promised. You can reach them at www.porini.com.

Here are some companies that have been used successfully by Fodorites. You can search for them in this site's search box in addition to Googling them. If you contact several you can compare prices, information, itineraries, and get an education. You can post some of their suggested itineraries and get help here.

Africa Adventure
Africa Serendipity
Africa Travel Resource (ATR)
Eastern & Southern Safaris
Gamewatchers
Green Footprints
Roy's
Sunny Safaris

All these are Africa specialists that design private itineraries and some offer groups as well.

LyndaS put together a helpful East Africa Index where you can read about other people's trips.

Please post as your plans progress.

mollymich:

I'll offer my 2 Shillings with another option:

I had a lovely Safari with KiliWarrior Expeditions and can not say enough good things about them. They are in Arusha, Tanzania owned by Africans and also have a USA office.

KiliWarrior Safari testimonial page - Den’s visual and written testimonial:
http://www.kiliwarriors.com/safari_testimonials.htm
(This represents only one week of my time in Africa-but a great one!)

The Home Page for KiliWarrior Safari’s:

Feel Free to ask me any questions about them.

Merci, Den
