The operator brough this down to $400 a person.. I'm still not satisfied.

I inquired with Roy Safaris - here is their quote - any comments?

You're paying less than $300/day/person for a private safari, including Zanzibar ... we've done two private safaris with Roy the past year to the same places (Manyara, Ndutu, Serengeti, Ngorngoro) and paid a lot more than this both trips, so I think you're getting a bargain

Hi Bill - I suppose travelling in the pre-season helps.

November is "high" season in Tanzania. December is "peak" season, as would be Jan-Mar. Over the Christmas/New Years period do some properties assess a surcharge. Only April/May are "low" season in Tanzania.

So the prices you received (less than $300/day) are very good.

Who was the original operator and how does their quote (with the additional $400pp) compare to Roys if you don't mind me asking?

The operator was a newbie - Tanzania Safari Wonders. Their original quote was $5380 (total for 2 people private safari) for this itinerary. With the new increments, they're pricing the rate above Roys - luckily I am in a position to get my money back.

Dhruvgupta, So where does that leave you now for your trip? Are you still going or postponing?
