We did decide on Peregrine after contacting someone on Tripadvisor who had gone with them. I feel good about my selection - they seem like a responsible company and the trip is guaranteed to be small.
But please keep responding - I'm sure other people may be interested in this topic in the future. For every one poster, there are a million readers who would rather read someone else's question & answer than write their own.

Sorry about that Debbie,I misread nypintha request for a tour.
You are right nypintha, many people read other's questions and answers rather than posting their own!!
I guess maybe some are just intimidated to start their own posting......or maybe they had their questions answered in other's postings.
Either way they were helped, and that is what this Forum is for.

Whatever trip you choose to book, be sure you have a clear understanding of the cancellation and overbooking policies of the company and be sure you know whether or not you are on a waiting list before you make payment.
It has been brought to my attention that this is part of OAT/Grand Circles policy: This is from the thread mentioned above from another Fodor post-

I had been in touch with Grand Circle Travel and voiced my concern over their policy of cancelling on short notice regardless of the fact that people had paid in full 90 days in advance. I was not inquiring about cruises. I thought I would post their reply for all to view.
"Thank you for replying to my email. Overbooking on Cruise Travel is a common practice in this industry, and you will find that all of the major cruise companies participate in this practice. We do list the following information in our Terms and Conditions on our website: 13. In certain circumstances, Grand Circle overbooks its trips to offset anticipated cancellations. If, up to four days prior to departure, more passengers are booked than can be accommodated, Grand Circle will solicit volunteers to change their reservations. Customers affected by overbooking will receive compensation and will be offered an alternative departure date."
I hope that you do not choose to travel with another company, but if you do be sure to have a look at their Terms and Conditions prior to booking.
Thank you again for writing to us. Please let me know if you have any other questions or if I can assist you further.
Sincerely,

I would be especially disappointed if our trip got cancelled since my parents signed up for the same trip after hearing about it from me - and I would be upset if we ended up travelling separately. I think one of the reasons they are taking the plunge to go to Egypt is because I'm going!.
