What is the best vehicle to be doing the Kenya/Tanzania circuit in?
4WD or a van, have been told that some of the cheaper tour companies use converted vans and that a 4WD is the better choice.
We're doing a private tour & have yet to find out what vehicle.

Reputable outfitter will use primarily Toyota Landcruisers or Range Rovers with pop-tops for photo taking. All must be 4WD in Tanzania. The Landcruiser may look like a mini-van to the untrained eye, but it's not.

Thanks Sandi,
It's so hard trying to get it all right. There is 5 of us travelling and I'm trying to make sure everything goes well.
Big decision now, is wether to book Kennedy or book through a local Australian agent, I'm leaning towards Kennedy but.......

Sally -
Presume you've been in touch with Kennedy, yes? Well, what has he offered compared to the OZ agent? The OZ agent is going to be using a ground outfitter in Kenya and Tanzania.. who are they? And what's OZ offering?
Why not post the two itineraries, including price (we share just about everything here) so we can comment. It maybe "the usual" as comment in one of your other posts, but even the usual can be different when it comes to where, accommodations, # of days, mode of transport, cost, etc.
Start a completely new thread with heading as "Kenya/Tanzania, 2009 - Assistance Please" Then keep all your questions and our replies under this heading and we can all follow your progress.
