Safari Footwear Suggestions

When going on safari you'll spend most of your time in a vehicle or at the lodge. There's actually very little walking. I wore either a comfortable pair of leather slip on Sketchers or my New Balance Walking Shoes. Others in our party wore sneakers and boat shoes, one person had a pair of "trail hiking shoes". All you need is a comfortable pair of shoes that you don't mind getting a little dirty and dusty.

Yes, flip flops or sandals for around camp. For drives, I wear sneakers or sport sandals, ( Teva, Mephisto, brands like that) knowing my feet will get dirty. For months after I returned from Tswalu, I would not clean my black lace-up (ugly) leather Clarks cause I did not want to wash off that red Kalahari dirt, for the memories! Depends, too, on whether you will be on walking safaris. Makes a BIg difference on what you bring, as does the season--will it be raining a lot?

I took one pair of sneakers (Sketchers) and one pair of Keen sandals since they are quick dry if they got wet. There is no reason to have any dress up type shoes. This time I will include some light flip flops just to wear in the shower.
