Yes I use the Lush shampoo bars pretty much exclusively when travelling and often at home too - infact they just sent me a new one to test and I love it even more than the others. Sadly, the combined shampoo and conditioner versions don't work for me at all and leave my hair in a horrible state.
Am going to look into the detanglers though.

Nyamera - My hair is pretty fine and goes about 5-6 inches or so longer than my shoulders. I use an amount that is about 1/4 of a dime. I mostly just work it through the ends very lightly. Those of you with thicker hair may need more, but I don't recommend just dumping it on your head/scalp. ;-)
Smooth it into your hands as you would lotions (but not all the way into your skin of course!) and then just work it through.
Just FYI!

re Lifelist's suggestion--yes, at Nomad a staff member would stand by to replenish. On our first day, when I finished my shower depleting the water supply, I thought that one of us would have to go tell them to replenish for the 2nd shower, but they did it right away without asking--they had been paying attention on their own. So you could ask them ahead of time to be ready to add more water. But you would be mid-shower while it was happening.
At Olduvai and Ronjo the bladders were larger than a single shower size.
As Kavey said, regardless of conditioner situation, you have to stop and start the water throughout the shower.

Thanks Cooncat. It sounds like a bottle of Aveda Elixir would last a long time. Unfortunately my hair isn’t thick, just average, but it’s quite long, so I would need more than you. I’ll have to do a test, but it looks like I would have to buy the elixir on the Internet, so I’ll see what I’ll do.
