Process to obtain visa at Jomo Kenyatta
I have a quick trip to Kenya and do not have enough time to get visa through embassy before leaving the US. Has anyone gotten the single entry tourist visa at Jomo Kenyatta Airport? I have the photos. Can I pay cash or do I have to pay with a international money order in USD? Is it a long procedure? Should I download the visa application and fill it out ahead of time?
I need guidance quickly - thanks Fodorites!

First, you can get the Visa on arrival. You do not need photos if obtaining on arrival... they have your passport. They want CASH! The procedure can be a short few minutes or longer depending on how many of those deplaning are doing as you. If a long line, then you just have to wait, unless you walk very very quickly to get down the ramp to Immigration. Yes, download the form, have it completed with your USD$50 and that's it.

When we landed at Jomo, as my family and I approached the visa line, one of the workers approached us to help. I was a little suspicious at first, wondering if we were about to get scammed.
But he helped us fill out everything got all our paperwork together and stepped right up to the desk with it, skipping us ahead of others.
We slipped him a little tip afterwards... which of course is what makes the world go round. Similar thing happened crossing over to Tanzania.

rizzuto,
It's possible to get one in advance from a consulate or embassy, but I don't find it really necessary.
pgoody,
I posted links on your other thread for downloading the visa application form.
As far as getting the visa form on the plane, I know KLM didn't have them but perhaps Kenya Airways does. The airline will distribute landing cards which need to be completed but you still need a separately completed visa form. I've seen several people walk up to the visa counter with only a completed landing card and they were all given a visa form and asked to come back after they it filled out.
