Need to check on Kenyan visa price

Just checking to see what the latest is on the price of a visa to get into Kenya - is the special price of $25.00 still valid?

Thanks guys!

Through 2010 I think it is $25. Only $10 for a transit visa even if transitting means exiting the airport, staying at a hotel, and spending 3 hours in Nairobi National Park.

At that price, your whole family can go back to Kenya!

Originally the reduced rate of $25 was to be good thru 2010. There is some word that the price may go back to the $50 beginning June 1st. Haven't had this confirmed though!

We paid 25US$ (German) and the form states "single entry". But coming back from TAZ we did not pay a second entry.
Obviously they charge 25US$ for multiple entry! Don't pay more!

Based on experiences beg Feb 2010.

The $25 fee will cover for the term of the Visa which is either 3 or 6/mos. so can cross between Kenya/Tanzania/Kenya. Only the Transit Visa, currently $10, is good for a set number of days (believe 5-7) and if in Tanzania longer, will require a 2nd Transit Visa on the return to Kenya.

Sandi, if I'm Nairobi for a few days before heading out to Rwanda, I should get the transit visa and then a 3-month Kenyan visa upon return? Yes?

Just get the regular Kenya Visa on arrival. This will serve you for the few days in Kenya and then on return from Rwanda. No need for Transit Visa.

Thanks so much guys for all the super up to date info.

Leely, no we aren't going back this year, I wish though. Wings are pretty clipped this year as we had to make three trips home (Winnipeg, Manitoba) last year and maybe another one this year. Domestic air fare in Canada is a killer...

I'm proofreading a document (in my spare time between two and three in the morning) and the visa fee said $50, which I thought was wrong, but wanted to check with the experts.

Joyce,
Funny, I was just thinking this morning that I should email you back on that and let you know! Unfortuantely, no, he figured it was just too much too soon to get ready for it, and we just had to agree whole-heartedly! There's always next year, so he is going to spend the year getting ready for it, I believe there are 5 road shows that he can attend, and I think he would would like to attend them all. I'm not sure where they are yet though, but I am hoping there is one in the Pacific Northwest so that he can come and visit us in Vancouver for steaks on the deck.

And that's an open invitation to any of you who are up in my neck of the woods anytime!
