Mashatu - Visiting Pete's Pond question

My plans for my trip for 2010 to Mashatu and Mala Mala are firming up. I had a question for all the Mashatu experts...

If I wanted to see or visit Pete's Pond, do I need to get special permission for that? Or do the game drive vehicles go by there anyway?

You'll need to make special arrangements. It will be best if you make arrangements with your travel agent or at least when you confirm your reservations. We waited until we got there and were just lucky that we were able to go.
Do you do anything on the Petes Pond forum? I guess it has switched to Facebook. But you can contact Afke - she's the one who runs the pond. I'm sure she'd love to hear from you.
It was a magical experience for me.
When in 2010 are you going?
I was hoping to go back in 2010 but will have to delay things till my $$ situation improves.

Thank you. I'm not really using a travel agent, but I am booking Mashatu and Mala Mala with Angela who handles their reservations so I'll ask her about Pete's Pond. And I'll also check out Facebook for Pete's Pond. Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm going from October 4th - 23rd 2010 with stops in Cape Town, Victoria Falls, Mashatu & Mala Mala. I'll post my itinerary once everything gets firmed up....

Angela will arrange it for you. It is near the airstrip, so we left camp early for our flight and spent some time out there.

I would have assumed it's part of the "Mashatu experience" and needless to arrange for it separately.
