LIttle Governors' vs Mara Explorer

HELP!
Has anyone seen both camps, Mara Explorer and Little Governors'.
I know that they are both great camps and that I could not go wrong with either one but are there any advantages/disadvantages to either since I am over a year away and can easily choose. Am most interested in the migration.
Thanks! bbb

Mara Explorer, probably is a bit nicer than Little G in terms of accomodation and more intimate. Only 10 tents at ME.

In terms of game viewing, driving from either camp should produce very good viewing......

I can't do a versus since I've only been to Little Govs. When I was there awhile back, to get to and from camp you took a 50 yard boat ride in a small stream. It is a unique feature that could make the place more or less attractive in your eyes.

In front of camp was a large lagoon with elephants and other animals. It was a great experience, just like every Mara stay I've enjoyed.

How about price--does that make a difference?

I tend to prefer the smaller of the camps in question.

Have fun mulling over your decision.

thanks for the replies.
Mara explorer is the smaller of the camps and the more expensive of the camps.
They really both look great, I was just hoping to find anybody that had actually seen them both. Anyy Agents been to both?

Thanks

I have been to both on at least two occasions. When are you going?

Did you see my pics:

Comparing the two camps without knowing your interests is hard! I will very happily stay at either!

Here are just a few personal and random thoughts:

L.G. has a wilder feel to it. Crossing the Mara in the little boat, watching the elles in the swamp and knowing in a few minutes they will walk up and past you, listening to the hippos feeding 3-feet from your tent at night, looking at a giraffe while showering. It remains one my favorites in the Mara.

Explorer (ME) is just off on the main road from the Talek gate and near the airstrip. You will see more cars as you leave for a game drive. I think I saw some fencing in front of camp but please understand that I may be wrong about this - I just cannot remember clearly.

While the bush on the banks of the Talek restricts animal viewing somewhat from the decks it can also offer wonderful surprises such as leopard and other animals coming for drinks.

The tents are more upscale than LG and more private. The outside tub is a hit!

ME is closer to the main wildebeest/zebra crossing areas and you have easier access to both the Musiara and Sekenani areas of the Mara (the road that crosses the Talek is nearby between Intrepids and Rekero).

It is a coin toss IMO, with the edge very slightly to ME if you want a bit more luxury and easier (quicker?) access to the cats and crossings!
