And I'm obsessing over new kit to buy and my September trip and still is nothing getting done. And then just another look at the photos (love no.9 great DOF and the dusty track leading you into the picture, polarised sky (?) and vivid colours. I love the wildlife pics but imgaes like this really give me the urge to travel.) NO MORE. SOme of have dealines you know! It's a downward spiral I'm telling you... ;-)

Beautiful photos, Johan. I especially loved the leopard and the landscapes. I'm going to Namibia and Botswana for the first time in May and your photos are just the way I have imagined these places.

WOW!!! Johan, excellent pictures, yet again........love every one of them!!!
Noticed, lots of wild dog pics from Chitabe!!! Now, i'm tempted to do either Chitabe or Sandibe in August along with Lagoon and Lebala. Any suggestions about Sandibe? Arent they in the same concession??? Would the whole concession be good to see Wild dogs and Cheetah from your experiences???
Thanks a lot
Hari

Sandibe and Chitabe share the same airstrip but I would say that Chitabe has the more productive area in the concession. Although I have never been to Sandibe, I spoke with several people who have been there and they were not that enthusiastic about it.
I have always seen the major predators there (wild dog/cheetah/leopard/lion). It's definitely the place to be this year I think.
I just received an e-mail this morning from Kenny, one of the managers at Chitabe Trails. He told me that they already received twice the normal rainfall. He was telling me that some camps up north will face some problems ... I was there also in 2004 (big floods) and the gameviewing at Chitabe was phenomenal. Try to book one of the following guides: Phinley or Ben.
I had one of my most memorable drives at Chitabe Trails last year:
- wild dogs hunting in front of camp;
- big male lion devouring an impala;
- a cheetah killed a steenbok;
- lions were chased away by elephants in front of camp.
Plenty of other game around.
It's one of my favorite camps ... but I have so many.
Greetings,
Johan
